        Sec 319


Under section 319 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, an act intended to weaken a person is deemed to be a bodily injury or an injury intended to cause an illness or cause harm.

Under Section 323 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, a person intentionally attempting to harm a person is liable to imprisonment for one year and fine or both.
An injury referred to under section 319 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, is a minor injury which will not be the cause of death of the victim for the purpose of injury.
What is intentional injury? 
 The person should have the idea that it is a crime to injure a person and that the person should be aware of the punishment to be inflicted on him and that the person should be willing to inflict minor injury. 

In one case, A hit B on the head with a 200-gram iron rod, killing B, but A had no intention of hitting B, and the weight of 200 grams was considered too normal and he was sentenced to inflict minor injuries under IPC 323.
