  • Police FIR

Indian penal code 1860 
according to sec. 420

Fraud can be filed under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The police are reluctant to file such cases. 
It carries a provision of 7 years imprisonment and fine. Bail is a felony.
